Three Mi-8MTV-1 Helicopters Delivered by Russian Helicopters for Operations in the Far North and Far East

Rotorcraft with reinforced landing gear and modern avionics will assist in firefighting, evacuation, and cargo transportation

Russian Helicopters Holding Company, part of the Rostec State Corporation, has delivered three new Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters to the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK). The aircraft, manufactured at the Kazan Helicopter Plant, will be sent to the Magadan and Amur regions, where they will be involved in solving a wide range of tasks: from transport, passenger and sanitary missions to extinguishing forest fires.

The delivery was carried out as part of a large-scale GTLK investment project to update the domestic helicopter fleet. The initiative aims to provide remote regions with modern aviation equipment capable of operating in extreme climatic conditions.

Mi-8MTV-1 is a multi-purpose helicopter with increased cross-country ability, designed for operation in difficult climatic and geographical conditions. The machine is equipped with two TV3-117VM turboshaft engines with a capacity of 2450 hp each, which significantly improves its take-off and landing characteristics, especially at high-altitude and northern airfields. The helicopter is capable of carrying up to 24 passengers or 4 tons of cargo in the cabin and on an external sling. It has a reinforced landing gear, an anti-icing system and a modernized complex of navigation and piloting equipment, compatible with the requirements of modern air routes.
