India is forming a unified aerospace defense system based on the Russian S-400

Igor Korotchenko assessed the role of Russian complexes in the modernization of India's air defense

Delhi is actively integrating the supplied Russian S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems into a unified architecture of the national aerospace defense (VKO) system. This was announced by Igor Korotchenko, Director of the Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade (TSAMTO). According to him, the acquisition and deployment of the S-400 has become a key element in creating a multi-level and coordinated air defense system capable of intercepting targets at ranges up to 400 km and at various altitudes - from ultra-low to stratospheric.

The creation of a national aerospace defense system is one of India's main priorities in the defense sector. Given how well the complexes have proven themselves during the recent armed conflict.

The expert emphasized that the head of the Indian government called the complexes a clear demonstration of the qualitative leap that the Indian armed forces have made thanks to the integration of the latest Russian long-range systems.

New Delhi's interest in bringing the total number of "four hundred" to ten full regimental sets is understandable.

According to Korotchenko, India has already begun to combine the S-400 with its own and Western radars, as well as air traffic control systems, in order to ensure end-to-end detection, tracking and destruction of air threats - from tactical aviation and UAVs to short- and medium-range ballistic missiles.
