Domestic auto giant AvtoVAZ continues to develop a new minivan model. This was announced by the head of the company, Maxim Sokolov. According to him, its release will take place when the market situation becomes more favorable to ensure sufficient demand.
The top manager announced this at the VTB forum "Russia is calling!". He explained that interest in new models in 2025 was low. That is why, Sokolov believes, launching new products in the minivan segment is impractical.
As the market revives, as it will be able to ensure demand, and solvent demand, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, an effective business model for launching this project, we will immediately present it to the market and, accordingly, ensure its engineering and testing.
Earlier in March, AvtoVAZ Vice President Sergei Gromak spoke about plans to launch mass production of a family minivan in 2027. The total investment in the project may amount to 21 billion rubles.
