Serial freezer trawler-processor "Captain Geller" went on sea trials in the Baltic Sea

The vessel of project 170701 can process up to 150 tons of fish products per day

The first freezer trawler-processor of project 170701 «Captain Geller» has cast off from the outfitting berth of the Northern Shipyard and went on factory sea trials in the Baltic Sea. St. Petersburg shipbuilders will check the main life support systems of the vessel within 5 days, the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) press service reported.

The trials will be monitored by employees of the Northern Shipyard, representatives of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and the customer — the Norebo fishing holding.

What will be checked during the tests:

  • maneuverability of the trawler
  • operability of ship equipment and ship systems

About «Captain Geller» project 170701

The vessel is designed for catching cod, pollock, herring and other types of fish. It is equipped with an advanced fish processing factory that processes up to 150 tons of products per day.

The freezer trawler "Captain Geller" has a special bow shape Enduro Bow, which improves seaworthiness and reduces the impact force of the oncoming wave. The vessel will be operated in the Northern fishery basin.
