The domestic low-orbit satellite constellation for broadband satellite communications " рассвет " will be a sovereign response to the American Starlink technology. This was announced by Deputy Sergey Boyarsky.
According to him, after the launch of the project, the Russian Federation may share access to the technology with its allies.
This is indeed our sovereign response to Starlink, which is being handled by "Бюро 1440". We are waiting for the full-scale launch of the project, because the vast expanses dictate high costs for delivering the signal to remote places for a small number of people.
The parliamentarian stressed that the primary task is to launch the project on the territory of Russia, so that "our Starlink" is available both in terms of technical coverage and the cost of use for the end consumer.
The " рассвет " project is being implemented by the company "Бюро 1440". The launch of the commercial service is scheduled for 2027, when there should be more than 250 devices in orbit. By 2035, the number of groups may exceed 900.
