Flight tests will take several years

Flight tests of the new Russian light single-engine fifth-generation Su-75 Checkmate fighter will take several years, according to Sergei Bogdan, head of the flight service at Sukhoi.

He clarified that the testing stages consist of flight-design tests of the aircraft, where the design bureau itself flies first, and then a representative of the fighter's customer.

No tests can be completed in one year - that's for sure.

The first flight of the Su-75 Checkmate will take place in early 2026, Bogdan noted. The prototype aircraft is already in the workshop and is being finalized.

Alexander Mikheev, General Director of Rosoboronexport, added that interest in the Su-75 remains in the countries of the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region. Building Su-75 Checkmate Russia plans to jointly with Belarus.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Il-96 aircraft for the first persons will remain relevant with the new PD-35 engines.
