Продажи новых автомобилей в России снизились в ноябре

After a record October, new car sales decreased by 40%

In Russia, new car sales are expected to decline in November, according to industry experts' forecasts. The beginning of the month turned out to be "calm", and customer activity decreased compared to October, said Andrey Olkhovsky, General Director of Avtodom Group of Companies, to the Avtostat agency.

Nikolai Ivanov, Sales Director of Rolf, gave a similar assessment. According to him, the volume of new car contracting "fell" by about 40% compared to October. Experts attribute this to the short November holidays, when residents of large cities left the metropolis, as well as to the expectation of changes in the mechanism for calculating the recycling fee for cars over 160 hp, which will come into force on December 1.

The projected market volume for November ranges from 125–150 thousand cars sold. Andrey Terlyukevich, General Director of AvtoSpetsCenter Group of Companies, believes that the month will "close" at the level of 140–150 thousand, and a revival in sales, if it occurs, is expected no earlier than the spring of 2026. Roman Slutsky, General Director of Alarm-Motors Group of Companies, predicts 125–135 thousand registrations, noting a decrease in hype and a decrease in the availability of cars from dealers.

Experts also note that the average car ownership period in Russia has increased significantly. If in 2019, 15% of cars changed owners in 3–7 years, then at the end of nine months of 2025, cars in this age category changed owners in only 9% of cases.

October 2025 showed record results for the last 11 months: Russians purchased 165.7 thousand new passenger cars — 35% more than in September. The market leader remained the domestic Lada, and the Chinese brands Haval and Geely entered the top three.
