The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) presented models of domestic passenger aircraft MC-21 and SJ-100 at the international aerospace exhibition Dubai Airshow 2025. Visitors to the exposition can see the internal layout of the airliners and get acquainted with the key features of the latest Russian civil aviation projects, TASS reports.
MC-21 is a flagship project of a short- and medium-range passenger aircraft, which is designed to replace the outdated Tu-154 models and the Tu-204 family on the Russian market. The second fully import-substituted MC-21 made a flight at the end of October 2025, domestic systems and PD-14 engines were tested on board. Most of the foreign components have been replaced with Russian counterparts. The completion of the aircraft certification is scheduled for the end of 2026, after which the launch of the first two production vehicles is planned.
SJ-100 is an updated version of the short-range Superjet 100 aircraft with the maximum level of import substitution. In April 2025, the fully domestic SJ-100 with PD-8 engines successfully completed its first flight in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The aircraft is expected to be certified in early 2026, after which mass production will begin.
