New BRDM-2MS reconnaissance vehicles with drone shields appear in the military

BRDM-2MS retains amphibious capabilities and provides up to 1500 km of autonomous range

The Russian military has received updated BRDM-2MS armored reconnaissance and patrol vehicles with improved survivability. The vehicle received additional screens and a large anti-drone grid, which reflects the current requirements of combat.

The hull is equipped with enhanced protection and modern sights. A large protective frame against drones is installed above it and the turret, covering key areas from top attacks.

The military calls this vehicle "Bardak", BRDM-2MS is the most advanced modification. The armored vehicle received new sighting systems with thermal imaging channels, allowing it to detect targets at night at a distance of up to 3.5 km. This increases the effectiveness of standard weapons - 14.5-mm KPVT and coaxial PKTM of 7.62 mm caliber.

The military has strengthened the mine resistance of the hull, added all-round cameras and satellite navigation. A 150 hp diesel engine accelerates it on the highway to 100 km/h.

BRDM-2MS retains amphibious capabilities, crosses water obstacles by swimming and provides up to 1500 km of autonomous range. Combat weight - 6.9 tons, crew and landing party - up to five people.
