A modern three-story building with an area of 12,811 m² has been commissioned at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. Workshop 232 (machine tooling and molds) and Department 320 (mechanization and automation) have moved into the new building, which has become a key step in the technical re-equipment program of civil aviation assembly production, in particular for the assembly of the MC-21 aircraft.
The new building houses more than 300 tons of materials and equipment.
The relocation took place without stopping production: heavy equipment weighing up to 40 tons was moved along carefully calculated trajectories with synchronized equipment. As the machines were moved, employees also moved to new premises, which made it possible to maintain the production rhythm.
The next stage of the plant's work is the introduction of lean manufacturing tools to improve the efficiency of MC-21 assembly.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian engineers from MAI have created "repair suitcases" for the rapid restoration of MC-21 aircraft.
