Rosatom has delivered the reactor vessel for the fourth power unit to the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.
The equipment arrived at the site along with the transport lock for the third and the pressure compensator for the fourth power unit.
The reactor vessel is a key element of a nuclear power unit, in which a controlled chain reaction will occur during the operation of the plant. To date, this equipment has already been installed at the first, second and third power units.
The reactor vessel will be installed using Open Top technology. It allows large-sized equipment to be fed into the sealed area through the open top of the cylindrical part of the reactor building. The technology optimizes construction and installation operations.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the first unit of the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey will start generating electricity in 2026.
