Russia is restoring the full cycle of competencies in civil aircraft construction — a unique case on a global scale. This was stated by the General Director of the National Research Center "Zhukovsky Institute", Doctor of Technical Sciences Andrey Dutov.
According to him, technological leadership in the industry cannot be achieved by relying only on traditional solutions.
Our technologies should not just catch up, but provide a qualitative advantage — not for the sake of superiority as an end in itself, but for solving national problems.
Scientists are already working on next-generation technologies — the N+1 structure, which combines aerodynamic, structural, fuel and digital innovations.
This approach, based on the principle of technological synergy, will allow Russia to move on to the development of a new generation of "smart" civil aircraft after 2028–2029, fully meeting national interests and promising industry requirements.
Today, new domestic technologies are being actively introduced into the import-substituted MC-21 and SJ 100 aircraft. These projects are actually completely new machines created on the basis of advanced Russian developments.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that "ODK-Saturn" has modernized production for PD-8 and SaM146 engines.
