Students of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation have developed a ground station capable of quickly refueling three agricultural drones with chemical solutions at once without personnel involvement. This was reported in the press service of University 2035.
The station's design and sensors allow for refueling several devices at once without personnel involvement: the drone itself docks with the hose, and the solution enters the agricultural drone's tank until the liquid level sensors are triggered. Then the pump stops working, the valve closes, and the agricultural drone takes off, continuing to spray the liquid.
Simultaneous refueling of several drones takes less than 5 minutes. The station was created as part of the federal project "Personnel for UAS," which is being implemented by University 2035 in conjunction with educational organizations.
When planning a flight mission, the system takes into account the solution consumption and battery capacity. The station calculates the tank filling volume so that when a critical charge level is reached, the drone uses up the remaining solution and returns to refuel with an empty tank, ready for battery replacement.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the first domestic engine for heavy drones, "Ilya Muromets," is being created by engineers from Tomsk.
