The Ministry of Finance of Russia has prepared amendments to the Tax Code, which provide for the zeroing of the excise tax on denatured ethyl alcohol in the production of AI-92 gasoline. According to the document, the benefit will be valid if the alcohol is supplied to an oil refinery (NPZ) that has a certificate for oil refining.
According to sources, the initiative is aimed at increasing the profitability of gasoline production using alcohol and can be implemented in the event of a shortage of fuel supply on the market.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak sent proposals to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to support the domestic fuel market. Among the measures is the creation of economic incentives for the use of ethyl alcohol in gasoline production by abolishing the excise tax on denatured ethanol. According to Novak, this will increase gasoline supplies to the domestic market by approximately 100 thousand tons per month.
