The Severyanin plant (Irkutsk) has launched new drilling rigs on the market, created on a tracked chassis of its own design.
The machines are designed to operate in difficult geological and climatic conditions, including northern regions. The company's designers have assembled the equipment with high cross-country ability and reliability in mind, positioning the chassis as an analogue of the well-known MT-LB.
The drilling rigs are equipped with YaMZ-238 turbodiesel engines, which are characterized by high power, maintainability and resistance to low temperatures. This eight-cylinder V-shaped diesel engine with a working volume of 14.86 liters in the turbocharged version develops power up to 330–420 horsepower at 2100 rpm and a maximum torque of up to 1275 N·m. The engine has proven itself on heavy special equipment and military equipment, providing stable operation under high loads and in conditions of limited maintenance. A simple design and reliable components ensure the engine a long service life — over 1 million kilometers with proper operation.
In addition, the transmission of the units includes a 2-65-00 transfer case, which ensures efficient distribution of torque between the axles and increases the maneuverability of the machine on rough terrain.
