"Stalingrad" will be built at the enterprise for FSUE Atomflot. Its launch is scheduled for 2028, and delivery to the customer is scheduled for December 2030.

Icebreakers of Project 22220 are considered the largest and most powerful in the world. Their main purpose is to ensure year-round navigation in the western Arctic and to escort ships along the Northern Sea Route.

Currently, the Baltic Shipyard has successfully built and commissioned four icebreakers: "Arktika", "Sibir", "Ural" and "Yakutia". Two more vessels - "Leningrad" and "Chukotka" - are under construction. The next step in the development of the series is the laying down of the "Stalingrad" icebreaker, which will strengthen Russia's position in the development of the Arctic.

Icebreakers of Project 22220 (LK-60Ya) are a series of Russian universal dual-draft nuclear icebreakers. The main tasks of the vessels are to service the Northern Sea Route and conduct various expeditions to the Arctic.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that "Admiralty Shipyards" will complete the construction of the icebreaker "Dzerzhinsky" of Project 23550.
