The second Russian military transport aircraft Il-76TD has landed in Venezuela with an unknown cargo on board this week. The vessel is owned by the airline "Aviakon Tsitotrans".
The plane flew from Mauritania to Caracas, the contents on board are unknown. It should be reminded that "Aviakon Tsitotrans" has been on the US sanctions list since January 2023.
Il-76TD is a ramp air freighter, it was created as a military transport aircraft. In civil commercial aviation, the Il-76TD is mainly used for the transportation of industrial equipment, self-propelled vehicles and any dangerous goods.
The vessel is equipped with a rear ramp with a lifting capacity of up to 30 tons, two onboard cranes and two winches. The maximum payload is 46 tons, the flight range with a payload of 40 tons is 3,900 km, the flight crew is 5 people.
