MiG-31K launches "Kinzhal" for the first time in a long time

Ammunition dives on the target from the stratosphere

A MiG-31K combat fighter of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia has used the Kinzhal hypersonic missile system for the first time in a long time. The information appeared in Telegram channels.

The "Kinzhal" took up permanent combat duty in August 2022 in Kaliningrad, but the missiles themselves became known back in 2018. Despite this, there is no detailed information about the combat system in the public domain.

At the same time, it is known that the ammunition is based on the 9M723 Iskander-M aeroballistic missile. A compact projectile that carries different types of warheads and can be launched at any initial speed and at any altitude of the carrier.

Preliminary, the range of the complex is about 2 thousand km, the maximum speed of the missile is up to 10 times the speed of sound.

In addition, there was information about the likely integration of "Kinzhal" into fifth-generation Su-57 fighters. However, we are talking about aircraft for the Indian Air Force, not Russia.

Earlier www1.ru reported that "Burevestnik" turned out to be more dangerous than it originally seemed.
