Атомная энергетика Турции к 2050 году должна достичь 20 ГВт мощности

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that the first unit of the Akkuyu NPP under construction will start producing electricity in 2026. He announced this at the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum in Istanbul.

Together with Russia, we are building four reactors at the Akkuyu NPP. This is the largest energy project in the history of Turkey. The first power unit will start generating electricity in 2026.

The Minister emphasized that cooperation with Russia in nuclear energy is strategic and long-term. It includes technological transformation, training of specialists, and industrial development.

In addition, Turkey plans to reach a nuclear energy capacity of 20 GW by 2050. This will involve the construction of both large power units and modular reactors.
