Roslavl Wagon Repair Plant (RVRZ) is increasing its capacity for the production of freight cars. The company has launched a new workshop. This was announced by the Governor of the Smolensk Region, Vasily Anokhin.
The new workshop will allow the production of a modern line of freight cars, including gondola cars, platforms and tanks. The total production volume of the enterprise will double to 7.5 thousand units per year.
Work on the creation of a new production facility started in March 2024. More than 2.7 billion rubles were invested in its implementation.
The production of gondola cars has already begun in the workshop, and the creation of tanks for the transportation of various goods is planned for next year. Products for railway rolling stock will also be produced here.
The launch of the new workshop strengthens the position of Roslavl VRZ not only on the Russian market, but also in friendly countries — Kazakhstan, Belarus and Uzbekistan.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the "Roslavl Brake Systems" plant will receive 2.5 billion rubles for modernization.
