«Растянутый» МС-21-500 получит мощный двигатель ПД-26 — пока только на чертежах

Currently, Only a Virtual Model of the Unit Exists

The prospective Russian MC-21-500 airliner with a capacity of 270 passengers will fly in the sky with new PD-26 aircraft engines. This was reported by Ircity.

Most likely, the prospective PD-26 engine will be used for it. Some of the MC-21-500 units need to be created from scratch, in particular the wing, center section, and others.

The final tests of the PD-26 will take place in a flying laboratory. Currently, Il-76 aircraft are used for this, in which one of the four engines is replaced.

Aviation expert Roman Gusarov assessed the prospects of the PD-26 with great skepticism. So far, only a virtual model of the unit exists, and there is no need to talk about production in the foreseeable future.

It is known that the new MC-21-500 model is already under development. No technical details of the new aircraft have yet appeared on the Web.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that all forces have been thrown into the production of the MC-21: thousands of parts suppliers are already participating.
