Sberbank reports a "call from the military registration and enlistment office" fraud scheme

Attackers target young people of conscription age and relatives of deceased military personnel

Sberbank reported that attackers have intensified with a new fraud scheme involving alleged calls from representatives of the military registration and enlistment office. Criminals communicate with young people of conscription age and relatives of deceased military personnel.

Young people are offered to update information in the military registration register under the pretext of conducting the autumn draft. Relatives of deceased military personnel are informed about a posthumous award. In this way, telephone scammers try to extract a code from an SMS from people.

If a stranger, no matter who they claim to be or what pretext they use, asks you to name a code from an SMS or urgently make a money transfer, then this is definitely a scammer. Immediately end the conversation.
Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank
