Navigation system operates at wind speeds up to 50 m/s

Specialists from Azimut (part of Rostec Group) have developed the VOR 2700/DME/N2700 radio navigation equipment complex (azimuthal, range measuring). It was installed at Mirny Airport to ensure the safety of aircraft during landing in difficult weather conditions, the state corporation's press service reported.

The development will ensure stable air communication between the city and the mainland all year round. It allows you to accurately determine the location of the aircraft and is recommended by ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) as the main means of navigation.

Azimut equipment is also used in other regions of the Far North. Radio beacons have been installed at airports in the Chukotka, Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrugs.
