A solar flare of the penultimate power class M1.1 was recorded on October 20. This was reported by the press service of the "Fedorov Institute of Applied Geophysics" (FSBI "IPG").
At 08:27 Moscow time, an M1.1 class flare with a duration of 34 minutes was recorded in the X-ray range in spot group 4248 (N03W89).
The Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI and ISZF also reported that the geomagnetic situation on Earth has stabilized.
At the moment, the risks of exposure to large flares on Earth are zero; in fact, they became so 2-3 days ago. The pressure from the coronal hole, which prolonged the period of storms, has also been almost completely removed at the moment.
In the next 5-7 days, there are no factors on the Sun that could disrupt the geomagnetic situation. A prolonged lull is expected.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the most powerful flare was recorded on the Sun.
