Island of Silence: Two Acoustic Booths Installed in the Metro

The booths can be used free of charge until the end of the year

The first acoustic booth appeared at the "Komsomolskaya" interchange hub, which combines metro stations, MCD, and major railway stations. The second booth is installed at the "Nizhegorodskaya" transport hub.

Acoustic booth of the Moscow Metro

Acoustic booths are soundproof spaces designed for 1 person, allowing for important calls to be made in a calm environment.

Inside the booth, there are USB and Type-C connectors for charging gadgets, a workspace, adaptive lighting, and ventilation providing a constant flow of fresh air. Although the door is made of translucent glass, it does not allow anyone to peek at the user's gadget.

There are 2 ways to rent the booths:

  • Book the desired time in advance in the mobile application of the new acoustic booth rental service;
  • Use time slots from 15 minutes on the spot by scanning the QR code on the booth door or posters.
In today's world, people work from anywhere, not just in offices, and it is important for us to follow this trend. If silent spaces become popular, we will introduce them at other stations as well.
Maxim Liksutov, Head of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of the City of Moscow

Until the end of the year, the Moscow Metro offers the use of the booths completely free of charge.
