The submarine "Komsomolsk-on-Amur" from the Pacific Fleet successfully carried out torpedo firing as part of the exercises. This was announced by the fleet's press service.
The diesel-electric submarine "Komsomolsk-on-Amur" of the submarine unit of the Primorsky Flotilla of mixed forces of the Pacific Fleet carried out torpedo firing in Peter the Great Bay.
The submarine, overcoming the resistance of enemy forces, stealthily penetrated the designated area, discovered a group of ships and carried out a successful training torpedo attack from the maximum possible depth.
The operation took place in the context of an active search for submarines by the Il-38 anti-submarine aviation of the Pacific Fleet. The crew demonstrated a high level of training and effective use of weapons and capabilities of the submarine in conditions close to combat.
The fleet noted that the submarine crew confirmed the practical skills of using the entire range of weapons and the potential of the ship during naval combat. After hitting the target, the submarine practiced the task of secretly leaving the attack area and evading pursuit.
"Komsomolsk-on-Amur" (B-187) is a Russian diesel-electric submarine of Project 877 "Paltus".
