Russian military personnel have transformed a Soviet Moskvich-2140 into an improvised infantry fighting vehicle (IFV). Footage of the amazing system has gone viral online.
The photo shows a sedan without the rear part of the roof and windows. A lightened turret from a BMP-1 — 2A28 "Grom" — has been installed on the rear of the improvised pickup truck based on a civilian car.
The vehicle, armed with a 73-millimeter gun, can be used as fire support equipment.
The "Grom" is capable of firing HEAT and high-explosive fragmentation rounds. The effective firing range is 1.3 km, the maximum range is 4.4 km.
Also, "First Technical" reported on the most protected tracked armored vehicle. Craftsmen hung it with conveyor belt, hanging almost to the ground. A reinforced lattice structure with steel chains was installed on top of it.
