The design of the serial TV7-117 engine for the Il-114-300 medium-range turboprop airliner uses elements created using additive technology. This was reported by the United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of the Rostec State Corporation).
The company noted that this approach allows creating complex parts that are lighter and stronger than traditional ones.
The TV7-117 engine is equipped with an automatic control system that regulates the operation of both the engine itself and the propeller.
The system coordinates their work in real time. The result is better fuel efficiency.
The TV7-117 has modifications for both airplanes and helicopters. In tests, the power plant proved its reliability and unique design, UEC concluded.
The 3100 hp turboprop unit will ensure the operation of airliners even in the conditions of the North and high altitudes, Rostec noted.
