Fines for not having a child car seat in cars in Russia may increase to 200 thousand rubles. This was announced by Pavel Fedyaev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport.
The State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill according to which it is proposed to increase administrative liability for violating the requirements for the transportation of children, changing the administrative fine from three to five thousand rubles for drivers, from 25 to 50 thousand rubles for officials, and from 100 to 200 thousand rubles for legal entities.
Fedyaev noted that the fines have not been revised for about 10 years, so they have ceased to work. Statistics show that the number of children injured in road accidents as a result of improper transportation continues to grow.
From September 1, 2025, it will be prohibited to use straps and adapters in the traffic rules. The rules will have a clear definition of what constitutes a child car seat.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russians have begun to pay fines for traffic violations more often in the first half of 2025.
