The diesel-electric submarine "Komsomolsk-on-Amur" of the Pacific Fleet went to sea to work out the elements of the L-3 course task. These exercises are a key element of the program for preparing a submarine to perform its main tasks.
In accordance with the combat training plan, the crew of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur submarine performed a deep-sea dive to 90 meters in the marine training ground of the Sea of Japan.
During the descent under water, the team inspected the functioning of all components and assemblies of the submarine, studied the procedure for navigating the ship at significant depths, as well as during various methods of ascent to the water surface.
At the end of the underwater stage of the training, the submarine team surfaced and continued to perform tasks in accordance with the combat training schedule of the Pacific Fleet.
The crews of the rescue ship "Igor Belousov" and the large anti-submarine ship "Admiral Tributs" participated in ensuring the deep-sea diving of the submarine.
B-187 "Komsomolsk-on-Amur" is a Russian diesel-electric submarine of Project 877 "Paltus".

- Working immersion depth: 240 m, maximum - 300 m.
- Navigation autonomy: 45 days.
- Crew: 57 people, including 12 officers.
- Displacement: surface - 2300 tons, underwater - 3040 tons.

- Power plant: diesel-electric with full electric propulsion, includes 2 diesel generators of 1000–1500 kW, main electric motor 4050–5500 hp, electric motor of economical speed with a capacity of 190 hp, two backup electric motors of 102 hp each, one low-noise six-blade low-speed fixed-pitch propeller, 2 battery packs of 120 elements each.
- Armament: 6 bow TA caliber 533 mm, normally charged, with automatic loading, 18 torpedoes or 24 mines.
