Russian airlines Aeroflot, Pobeda, and Rossiya will receive eight Boeing cargo planes for dismantling into spare parts. These aircraft, previously owned by an Irish company, were transferred to the Russian Volga-Dnepr after the settlement of insurance disputes.
Under no circumstances should you think that old, worn-out parts will be installed on passenger planes. Aviation is not the automotive industry; everything is arranged differently here: each part has a strictly defined service life set by the manufacturer. Even in used aircraft, absolutely new parts can be used - they have simply replaced others that have failed. Such parts may still have a very large remaining resource. Their use is completely legal and documented.
We are talking about six Boeing 737-800BCF and two Boeing 747-400, which will be used as spare parts donors for the airline group's passenger fleet. The cargo Boeings have not been operated since 2022, and their use for transportation in the current conditions is considered impractical.
Experts assure that the use of parts from these cargo aircraft will not affect the safety of passenger transportation.
