Russian military has begun testing the Svarog-Strela aerial air defense drone. It is designed to intercept fixed-wing drones by anti-aircraft crews, according to the Frobotics advanced development center.
A company representative clarified that the operating range of the device is up to 10 km with a flight time of about 10 minutes, and a maximum speed of up to 350 km/h.
"Svarog-Strela" belongs to short-range devices and is used as part of anti-aircraft crews to repel attacks by fixed-wing drones.
Currently, the system is being tested in the field, and the interaction of the device with ground-based communication repeaters and anti-aircraft weapons is being worked out.
High speed and digital control channels make such devices suitable for quickly intercepting reconnaissance or light strike UAVs at close ranges.
