St. Petersburg Marine Engineering Bureau (SPMBM) "Malachite" presented a prototype of the first Russian underwater manifold for hydrocarbon collection.
A manifold is essentially a receiving and distribution collector that gathers reservoir fluid from several wells and combines them into a single collector. Our manifold is designed and manufactured as part of R&D (research and development) with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. Manifolds have never been produced in Russia before.
The underwater manifold is designed for the extraction of reservoir fluid (a substance in the pores of rocks that may contain oil and gas). It collects this fluid and transports it to onshore facilities for further processing.
The manifold has a bottom support base "on piles".
They (the piles) are first lowered from a supply vessel to the seabed, deepen under their own weight, then vacuum is created alternately with the help of a remotely operated underwater vehicle and they are buried to the required mark
After installation of the base, the manifold is installed with protection against accidental damage. The "Malachite" manifold is designed for installation depths of up to 500 meters.
The manifold must operate reliably for 30 years. Almost all pipeline connections are welded, so replacing them directly underwater is theoretically possible, but not provided for.
