Rosatom has begun designing a new floating power unit (PEB) with a capacity of 180 MW. This was announced by Andrey Nikipelov, Deputy Director General of the State Corporation for Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Solutions.
We plan to create a whole line of floating power units. And our next idea, our next thought, is what we are already designing. This is PEB-180. This floating power unit uses the RITM-400 reactor. These are the same reactors that we have already made for the Leader icebreaker (icebreaker Russia, project 10510).
Currently, the line of floating power units developed by Rosatom includes models with a capacity of 106 MW, designed for the Arctic regions of Russia, as well as PEB-100 with a capacity of 100 MW.
The new 180 MW unit is being designed to meet the needs of the Russian Arctic.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Khormoz NPP for $25 billion will appear in Iran.
