Rosatom will begin construction of a composites plant in the special economic zone in the Sverdlovsk Region, according to the head of the region, Denis Pasler.
The facilities, with a total area of 60,000 square meters, are scheduled to be launched in 2032.
The corresponding agreement has been concluded between Rosatom, Titanium Valley, and the state corporation's composite division.
I am confident that the inclusion of the Sverdlovsk Region in the perimeter of the Rosatom composite division opens up new prospects for the development of not only our region, but the entire country.
The future enterprise will produce carbon fiber and raw materials for it; the main consumers of the products will be the aircraft construction and aerospace industries, the nuclear industry, medicine, and other fields. This underscores the strategic importance of the plant for various high-tech sectors of the economy.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Rosatom and Rostec agreed to cooperate on rare earth metals.
