Rostec mastered the repair and production of parts for Russian-French SaM146 engines installed on "Superjets"

The work includes the replacement of microchips, transistors and components

Rostec enterprises have mastered the repair and production of parts for Russian-French SaM146 engines, which are equipped on "Superjet-100" aircraft. This was announced at a meeting of representatives of the United Engine Corporation (UEC) with airlines Aeroflot, Rossiya, Azimuth, Red Wings, Yamal, Gazpromavia, IrAero and Severstal-Avia on the basis of the Perm enterprise UEC-STAR.

In 2022, the French company Safran, a partner in the creation of the SaM146, stopped servicing the engines. To maintain the airworthiness of the Russian fleet of "Superjets", specialists from UEC-STAR mastered the serial modular repair of electronic control unit (ECU) units, and are also working on component repair with the replacement of microchips, transistors, diodes and other elements.

The Rybinsk enterprise UEC-Saturn has developed and implemented the repair of ten critical products, made more than 74 changes to the engine design, and also produced replacement spark plugs and fuel filters.

Since 2022, the company has transferred more than 5,700 spark plugs and 520 filters, performed more than 150 repairs of SaM146 engines, and in 2025 - 33 repairs. In addition, certification work has been carried out to increase the service life of the main parts, which increased the engine life by an average of 2,000 flight cycles.

Representatives of airlines got acquainted with the workshops of hydromechanical and electronic units, new testing equipment and the e-Bird stand, which simulates the operation of all systems of the "Superjet-100".

Work to maintain the existing fleet of SaM146 engines is being carried out in parallel with the development of a fully import-substituted aircraft with a new domestic PD-8 power plant developed by UEC-Saturn.
