Roscosmos cosmonauts train for spacewalks in new Orlan-MKS No. 7 spacesuits

Процедуры отрабатываются на тренажере «Выход-2»

Roscosmos reports on the preparation of cosmonauts for work in outer space at the International Space Station (ISS). The crew is working on the "Exit-2" simulator.

The new Orlan-MKS No. 7 spacesuit has arrived at the ISS. During training, cosmonauts Sergei Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev practice both standard procedures and emergency situations. Possible failures include leaks in hatches, compartments and the spacesuit itself, fan and pump failures, and radio communication interruptions.

The crew practices preparing spacesuits for spacewalks, controlling airlock equipment, and ensuring safe exit from the docking compartment of the Russian segment of the ISS. Such rehearsals allow cosmonauts to hone their skills and minimize risks during real work outside the station.

Training on Earth in a full spacesuit allows critical actions to be safely trained and to respond to emergency situations. This is a key stage in preparing for spacewalks, ensuring crew safety and the successful completion of scientific and technical tasks in orbit.
