A robotic module for working with test tubes, developed by specialists from the Scientific and Production Center for Laboratory Research of the Moscow Department of Health, was shown at the "Cloud Cities. BRICS Cities of the Future Forum." The event took place from September 17 to 18 in Moscow.
A representative of the center said that his employees are involved in the clinical analysis of biomaterials (blood, smears, scrapings). Due to the increase in the number of patients, the amount of work has increased, he added.
There was a need to automate routine unskilled actions of laboratory personnel.
Robotic modules allow you to:
- open the test tube
- sort the test tubes
- make a primary check-in (check the input data on the label)
About 60 installations have been launched in the center's laboratories during the year.
About 100 thousand test tubes are processed per shift in the laboratory, so automation and robotization are very important. The modules perform operations 24/7.
According to the source, the main advantage of the development is the absence of errors. The payback period is about 1.5 years.
