Sber has introduced an innovative solution for those planning trips to India. It was created in collaboration with the Cheq application. Now, travelers can pay for goods and services without cash or bank cards, using QR codes.
The Cheq service operates under the motto "When you are in India, pay like an Indian." The application is available for download on devices with iOS and Android operating systems. To start using it, you will need to go through several registration steps.
To activate an electronic wallet, users need to provide a passport and a valid Indian visa. An important step: meeting with a Cheq employee in India. It can be scheduled through the application. The service is available in major cities of the country. An agent can come to a location convenient for the user.
After activation, the wallet can be replenished through SberBank Online, via the "Transfers to another country" option and by specifying a phone number. According to Sber, the funds will be credited instantly.
To make a payment, you need to open the Cheq application, select the "Scan QR" option, point the camera at the code and enter the amount. This payment method is available throughout the country, and only internet access is required to use it. Now travelers can enjoy the trip without worrying about the need for cash and currency exchange.
