Russian T-90 tanks have high maintainability even in the field. One of the crew members of the T-90MS tank told about a case when the tank engine was lifted with the help of two palm trees.
Specialists of Uralvagonzavod have accumulated vast experience in repair and apply it in practice. Thanks to this experience, it is possible to replace certain blocks several times faster. There are also constructive changes: the accessibility of some tank components and assemblies has changed for the better. Quick-release connectors and other solutions are used in cooling and fuel supply systems, which also reduce repair time.
He emphasized that in the field, you can do almost anything with Russian tanks.
Engineers at Uralvagonzavod initially incorporated the possibility of field repairs into the design of the vehicle. If there is the necessary equipment, any repair can be done. But sometimes there are options even without equipment. There is a known case when, during tests in India, two palm trees were used as lifting mechanisms to replace a tank engine. So our equipment is unpretentious, and this has all been tested in practice.
