Работавшую под водой четыре года станцию подняли со дна океана в Арктике

The automatic buoy station was located at a depth of about two kilometers

In the Arctic Ocean, scientists retrieved an automatic buoy station from a depth of about two kilometers. This device has been conducting underwater research for four years, according to the press service of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI).

During its operation, the station collected unique data on changes in water temperature and salinity at various depths, as well as on currents and ice conditions in this region of the Arctic. The information obtained will allow scientists to more accurately model the processes occurring in the Arctic Ocean and predict climate changes in the Arctic region.

The work was carried out from the research vessel "Akademik Treshnikov" during its transit to the drifting station "North Pole-42". According to preliminary estimates, all station devices have retained their functionality, and the recorded data is undamaged.
