The new rolling stock includes a TEP70BS diesel locomotive and specially modified electric train cars manufactured at TMH plants. The DP2D features a push-pull system, allowing the same locomotive to be used for movement in both directions without the need for replacement. The train is controlled from the cab of the TEP70BS and the lead car of the electric train, with all control functions fully duplicated.

Experts assessed the performance of the new rolling stock in real-world conditions. From Sortavala, it was sent to the VNIIZhT Experimental Ring in Shcherbinka to complete testing and obtain certification.
