After the initial discovery on August 17, Romanov confirmed the existence of the object through the Liverpool Telescope and conducted additional photometric observations on August 23-24.

Spectral analysis on August 20 allowed the star to be classified as a Type Ia supernova with a redshift of 0.159. Information about the discovery was registered in the Transient Name Server and published in a scientific article.

The amateur astronomer said that he had previously co-authored the discovery of two supernovae under the designations SN 2022bsi and SN 2022jhn.
