A flare of the penultimate power class M occurred on the Sun. This was reported by the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FSBI "IPG").
On September 4, at 16:44 Moscow time, an M1.0 flare (N28E07) with a duration of 13 minutes was registered in the X-ray range.
Last week, the background X-ray radiation of the Sun exceeded the flare level C for several days. A large number of spots on the star increased the flare energy.
Solar flares are classified according to the power of X-ray radiation into five classes: A, B, C, M and X. The minimum class A0.0 corresponds to a radiation power in Earth orbit of 10 nW per 1 sq. m, and with the transition to the next class, the power increases by 10 times.
