A new modern enterprise will appear on the territory of the former Saratov Aviation Plant. The Rosimushchestvo Department for the region has leased a land plot of 1 hectare to the Sokol plant of ZAO Saratov Aviation Plant.
The investor is using the land for a large-scale investment project to build a production building for an enterprise that produces advanced aviation equipment.
The Sokol aircraft plant was founded in 1993 to produce parts for SAZ, which had been producing Yak-42 aircraft and modifications since 1977.
In the 2000s, SAZ faced a lack of orders for its products, went bankrupt, and closed in 2012. The last aircraft SAZ produced was in 2002.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Il-114-300 will increase its service life and reliability thanks to a new development.
