In the last week of August, the 35th of this year, the Russian car market recorded a new sales record — 29,777 new passenger cars found their buyers. This figure is 9.3% higher than the previous week. This was announced by the head of Avtostat, Sergei Tselikov.
The previous record was set in the 31st week of 2025. At that time, 29,247 cars were sold.
The commercial vehicle market also showed growth. Sales of cars in this segment increased by 13.6% and amounted to 1757 units. This is 13% less than a year earlier.
At the same time, sales of trucks (from 3.5 tons), after a significant drop in the previous week, "soared" by 26%, exceeding the mark of 1000 units — 1144 pieces.
