The Russian Helicopters holding (part of Rostec) has for the first time raised into the air a fully import-substituted light multipurpose Ansat with Russian VK-650V engines developed by the United Engine Corporation (UEC).
The Ansat crew evaluated the helicopter's handling and stability, the operation of the main systems and equipment. The engines worked reliably and ensured a successful flight of the import-substituted helicopter for 2 minutes.
Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Anton Alikhanov noted that the first flight of the helicopter with a domestic engine is another step towards strengthening the technological sovereignty of Russian aviation.
Now the main task for our manufacturers is to successfully pass all stages of certification tests, following which it will be possible to start serial deliveries.
In the process of re-motorization of the Ansat, specialists from the Kazan Helicopter Plant (KVZ) comprehensively redesigned the systems and made changes to the helicopter's design, raising its performance and reliability to a new level. Changes were also made to the design of the machine. The fuselage has improved aerodynamics, and the proportion of composite materials in it has increased.
A new helicopter control system has been developed and implemented. An autopilot has also been integrated into its composition, which will allow flying at any time of the day, even in difficult weather conditions.
