Students of the Kazan State Agrarian University (GAU) have developed a platform for renting agricultural drones. The service, called ErgoBot, will allow farmers to rent unmanned vehicles for various tasks.
The platform operates on the principle of car sharing. Through the application, farmers can choose the type of drone needed for specific tasks and book it for a specific time. Rental is possible both with and without an operator. Drones can be used for spraying fields with fertilizers and plant protection products, monitoring crop conditions, assessing yields and creating maps for precision farming.
According to the university, the service will provide small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises with access to high-tech equipment, which is often too expensive for individual purchase. This will allow farmers to use the equipment as needed, avoiding the costs of purchasing and maintaining their own drones.
