Komi's airspace has become a key testing ground for domestic aviation. On Thursday, August 28, flight tests of the latest Russian Il-114-300 aircraft took place here.
The aircraft with tail number 54116 spent several hours in the sky over Syktyvkar, completing more than ten circles. The pilots tested the systems on board, making numerous approaches to landing with a subsequent go-around.
The Il-114-300 with number 54116 became the fourth aircraft of the series that Syktyvkar residents have seen in the sky since the beginning of the year. The baton of testing was taken over by other aircraft of the Russian aircraft industry: the MC-21-300 aircraft of the XXI century, the Tu-214, the "Superjet" SJ-100 and now the Il-114.
Certification of the Il-114-300 is scheduled for December 2025, and the transfer of the first production vehicles to customers will begin in the spring of 2026.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a millionth ingot of titanium for the construction of the MC-21 and SJ-100 was smelted in Russia.
