New anti-drone system "Inpoint" will be tested in Russia

Developed to protect large facilities, the innovative "Inpoint" system is a comprehensive solution for combating drones. It includes modules capable of detecting, tracking, and disabling unmanned aerial vehicles. According to the creators, the "Inpoint" project is highly adaptable, allowing it to be flexibly configured for specific tasks and features of protected facilities. The system is scheduled to launch in 2026. This was announced by Tatyana Kurkina, a representative of the startup.

Our project will provide protection against aircraft-type aerial vehicles. It also allows us to test hypotheses and develop solutions in a shorter time frame than existing concepts on the market.

The system for detecting and identifying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) relies on two types of sensors: acoustic and optoelectronic. Acoustic sensors capture sounds emitted by drones, allowing them to be detected at a great distance. They are capable of recognizing specific sound characteristics, such as the noise of propellers or engines, and warning the system of an approaching potential threat.

Simultaneously, the optoelectronic system (OES) scans the sky using cameras and lasers. This makes it possible not only to see the drone, but also to determine its type, size, and other important parameters. Combined detection (sound and image) allows not only to record the threat, but also to accurately classify the object, which is necessary for choosing a method of neutralization.
